[News] Le survol de l’astéroïde Steins par la sonde Rosetta
La chronologie du survol de l'astéroïde 2867 Steins par le vaisseau spatial Rosetta inclut une série d'événements critiques, le point culminant étant l'approche au plus près, prévue à 20h58 CEST (18h58 UTC) le 5 Septembre 2008.
Au moment de l'approche au plus près, Rosetta devrait être à 800 kilomètres de l'astéroïde, survolant Steins à une vitesse relative de 8,6 km/s. Rosetta et Steins seront illuminés par le Soleil, présentant une excellente opportunité d'observatio...

PREMIERES IMAGES STEINS PAR ROSETTA 'EXPECTED' SAMEDI 12H CEST
Couverture TV ESA annoncée et programme envisagé à partir du 06 septembre 04H GMT::
'The feed at 04:00 GMT will feature key moments of this exceptional flyby including the very first reactions of spacecraft controllers and scientists at ESA's Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt, Germany, as the very first data and pictures arrive throughout the night between 5 and 6 September.
An additional TV feed may be made at 08:00 GMT on 6 September - please watch for announcements.
The first batch of processed images and preliminary results will be presented at a press conference taking place at ESOC starting at 10:00 GMT / 12:00 CEST on 6 September (available through web and TV streaming). David Southwood, ESA Director of Science and Robotic Exploration, Gaele Winters, ESA Director of Operations and Infrastructure, and the key scientists and experts for the Rosetta mission, will provide the first insights into the outcome of this historic fly-by and link them to the bigger picture of space debris monitoring at ESA.

Sauf qu'en cliquant sur astéroÏde 1 on va sur la comete 67-Gerasimenko (en Novembre 08??) alors que le texte semble préciser que c'est Steins.
En cliquant sur NOW (aujourd'hui doc)et en focalisant (en bas) avec en plus des coef de grossissement (en haut) on ramasse en promenant la souris contre le dessin du Satellite le mot Steins apparait bien, mais on dirait que les orbites dessinés sont inversés.
Enfin si on poursuit l'orbite en bleu, on arrive sur Lutétia, autre passage prévu (?en juillet ou sept 2010 sur le schéma).
J'en déduis que Lutétia et Steins sont à peu près sur le même orbite et décalés de +ou- 120° sur une longue période.
